| Upsides | |
| Very good large grassed unpowered campsites at the top of Kumrunja Beach (aka Stubby Beach). Usually no problems getting a site even in the peak season from June to November, although the Queensland school holidays could be a bit of a problem as the Cairns and Brisbane fisherpeople arrive in droves. | Downsides | |
| Always look up and make sure you haven’t set your tent up under a green ants nest. These beasties can bite and they just love congregating on tents and makeshift clotheslines strung between and under their nests. Avoid the really big tree in the middle of the park like ....
