General comments
Arkaroola advertises this trek as an 'Extreme 4WD experience', however we would classify the trek as a C Grade trip (ie moderately difficult with some sections requiring caution) as the short trip into Barrarannana Gorge requires good articulation and a bit of care. The short section that requires care is on the way into the gorge - if you can get in you can easily get out. The Echo Camp Back Track is a pleasant drive with good trek notes provided that explain the environment you are traversing. If you start the trek around 11:00am you will be able to stop at the Echo Camp Waterhole for lunch - this is a well shaded spot and the water hole is a geat spot to explore with the kids.
