DescriptionLarge flat camping areas with good amenity. Close to storage dam for swimming and canoeing. While this site is accessible by 2WD vehicles, the last 15 kms is gravel with sections in poor condition.

General comments
This is a composite campground in the area generally known as Yalwal. It incorporates a day stay only picnic/BBQ area and two campsites located very close to each other. The site at the end of the road is the larger of the two, but both are capable of accommodating large groups. It is just 26kms from the heart of Nowra in the Shoalhaven area of New South Wales.

Attractions
The views of the escarpment in this area are spectacular as is the view from the campground out over Danjera Dam. The area is characterised by some .... Remainder of the content is available on the CampGroundCorner CD

Upsides
Quiet and secluded area with some good facilities. Close to 4WD tracks and good bushwalking. Plenty of room for campertrailers. Road access is good with the last 15kms being gravel. It&#.... Remainder of the content is available on the CampGroundCorner CD

Downsides
Some of the campground is quite hard requiring good quality steel tent pegs. Some rocks in the area close to the road entry but the area closer to the amenities block is grassy.... Remainder of the content is available on the CampGroundCorner CD

LRC Recommendation
This is a great 'bush camping' site which is suitable for longer stays despite the lack of showe.... Remainder of the content is available on the CampGroundCorner CD

How do I get there
Access is from Albatross Road Nowra. Turn into Yalwal Road and proceed for 10.5 kms. Take the left fork to Yalwal Recreation Area. The Danjera Campground is 14.7 km from this intersection.
