General comments
A very pleasant campground/picnic area within 5km drive of the tarred section of the Brindabella Road West of Canberra. Camping area is gently sloping down to a running creek in the nearby bushes. Campground is mostly bare of trees, some larger ones remain after the Canberra bushfire of 2003. There is an all weather hut available with internal tables and fireplace - no bedding. History on the area
Clearing and planting with pines in the Blue Range area commenced in 1941. During WWII a camp for Italian nationals who were "free aliens" was established on this site.
