General

CampGroundCorner is built using a mix of free and licensed products. This product would not be possible without the contribution of the global open source software community.

Mapping base data

The mapping base data is used under license from GeoScience Australia. Mapping data are supplied in shape file format. Normally it would require expensive corporate tools to be able to utilise these data. A freeware tool provided by PostGIS is used in accessing the data.

Perl

CampGroundCorner is programmed extensively in the PERL language. Perl is short for "Practical Extraction and Report Language," although it has also been called a "Pathologically Eclectic Rubbish Lister." Perl is an extensive open source project that is operating system independent and, best of all, is free.

As part of this project, object Perl libraries for the reading and creation of OziExplorer waypoint and plot files have been created. These modules are freely available on request.

Adobe SVG

The Adobe SVG driver for MS Windows is distributed under license with this CD. The driver can also be downloaded from the Adobe drivers web site for other operating systems.

SVG

Scalable Vector Graphics is a XML subset. CampGroundCorner uses SVG images for mapping.

The SVG files are generated using the Perl SVG Module V.2.27 by Ronan Oger. Info: http://search.cpan.org/dist/SVG/lib/SVG/Manual.pm

4WD Associations

Some codes and standards incorporated within CampGroundCorner documentation are used with the kind permission of the Australian National FWD Council and the Four Wheel Drive Association of NSW & ACT.

OziExplorer

OziExplorer file formats are used within CampGroundCorner. This software was also very useful in ‘truthing’ the SVG maps as well as being used to construct geo-polygons used for various areal delineation tasks.
