Loading mapping driver on to your computer

The first time you use CGC you have to load the Adobe SVGTM Map Driver on to your PC/laptop. This will enable you to view the maps and find campsites etc through the map scroll and zoom functions. To load SVG, simply click Load Mapping Driver on the start page.

Any subsequent time you use CGC on the same computer, skip this step and go straight to Start CampGroundCorner. For CampGroundCorner, the Adobe SVG driver is suitable for use on Windows 2000, XO and Vista.

Using CGC on Macintosh computers

Mac users should use Mozilla Firefox 1.5 or newer as the web browser, although the Safari browser can be used after you download a plugin (Safari will prompt you to download the plugin.) To browse the CD, double-click on the CD icon in the Finder then double-click the LRC_CampGroundCorner.htm file to open it in your web browser. Some features (such as popups when you move the mouse over links) will not appear but the rest of the content will be fully accessible, including maps and campground information..

Browser settings

Once installed you are ready to use the maps. Some Internet Explorer settings can cause you to have to click a message every time you load a page.

There are a few settings you can select to improve the performance of CGC on your computer - go to Browser settings.

Introduction to CGC maps

A click on Start CampGroundCorner on the start page will take you to the CGC maps. Key features are:

  • 4 levels of map zoom detail;
  • map navigation within and between levels;
  • “mouse over” information – i.e. when you hover the cursor on an area or feature, the name of the feature under the cursor appears in the green bar above the map.

Moving around the maps

Simply move the cursor around to put the pink box on your area of interest – click to zoom to the next level. Use the pink triangular pointers at the edges of the scene to navigate to an adjacent area. Hit the green Zoom Out button below left of the scene to move back to a more general view. For more advanced zooming, use Ctrl+Click to zoom in; Ctrl+Shift+Click to zoom out; and Alt+Click to move.
